Edward Armfield
1817 - 1896
It is believed that Edward Armfield was related to George (Smith) Armfield. It is possible they were brothers but we cannot confirm this at present. We will offer further evidence on this webpage following additional reasearch.
Like George Smith Armfield, Edward Armfield painted animals. In particulr he painted dogs and in particular he painted terriers. He also painted game birds and less frequently he painted landscapes.
The paintings of terriers turned out by both Armfields are uncannily similar. Compare the painting on this page with one by George Smith Armfield.
Exhibited: Royal Academy, the British Institute and Suffolk Street.
