David Bates was born in Cambridgeshire, England, and moved to the midlands. He worked in Birmingham and Worcester where he was employed as a commercial porcelain painter. He eventually left this employment to develop his passion for landscape painting.
Exhibited: Royal academy, Grafton Gallery, New Watercolor Society.
