In January 2004 the Fine Art Trade Guild published
the results of a best-selling prints survey conducted
in December 2003 by trade magazine Art Business
Today in which David Dipnall was included in the top
10 living artists based on the number of prints
sold during 2003.
Two of our paintings featured in an exhibition entitled "Dipnall's Year" at Omell Galleries in 2006. Dipnall 010 represented "January" while dipnall009, September Lodge, was a special centrepiece painting to honour the host month.
David Dipnall did not immediately flourish as an artist
but pursued a career in manufacturing before teaching
Craft and Design at Geelong Grammar School in Australia.
It was during his time in Australia that he finally
decided to indulge his passion for painting and
in 1974 he returned to England to begin a career
as an artist.
Recognition soon followed and work by David Dipnall was first published by Solomon and Whitehead
in 1979.
In 2002 he was awarded the Best-Selling
Published Artist Award.
David Dipnall is now regarded as one of the best
traditional English country landscape painters and
his work is reproduced extensively as prints.
